About Us
CSC Media Group is one of the fastest growing media companies in the UK. Founded by the producers of the ground-breaking music programme The Chart Show, which ran on ITV and Channel 4 for twelve years, and acquired in 2006 by private equity group Veronis Suhler Stevenson and a new management team.
CSC now owns and operates sixteen television channels in the UK on Sky Digital, Virgin Media and Freesat as well as six complementary websites. CSC has started to roll-out its channels internationally with distribution in ROI and Sub-Saharan Africa with other territories in the pipeline.
The Group’s current focus is on kids, movies, music and entertainment channels on television and associated online and IPTV/VOD platforms.
In 2011 CSC founded Aqua Moon Games which launched in early 2012 with its first product, CSC’s own skill-based games website for kids, www.poppower.com.
The kids channels and websites are aimed at clear and differentiated market segments:
- Tiny Pop and Tinypop.com for three to seven year olds,
- POP and Popfun.co.uk for four to nine year old boys and girls,
- Kix! and Kixtv.co.uk for boys aged seven to twelve and finally,
- PopGirl and Popgirlworld.com for girls aged seven to twelve.
The Group's kids channels account for 20% of all UK kids commercial spot delivery, 23% of UK girls and have grown 78% since 2006.
The Group’s musical heritage is well represented with seven music channels (of which six are wholly owned brands) that cross the full musical spectrum from pop, through rock, R&B and nostalgia to easy listening.
The group also owns and operates a music channel in partnership with Ministry of Sound in Dance Nation TV. CSC's portfolio accounted for 25% of the music market in satellite homes in 2011. CSC Music commercial impacts have grown by 52% since 2006.
In April 2012 CSC will launch an exciting new music television channel driven by mobile phone (text and mms) and social media such as Twitter and Facebook. Called BuzMuzik the channel will be a global first in music television broadcasting.
With its two True Movie channels and associated website, CSC is the home of true stories. True Movies 1 features some of the hardest hitting and emotionally heart-wrenching movies ever made starring a whole host of Hollywood’s leading performers including Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Hugh Grant.
True Movies 2 delivers an exciting mix of true movies alongside some of the biggest mini-series and author based dramas ever produced. With such highlights as Roots, Lonesome Dove and authors such as Danielle Steele, Barbara Taylor-Bradford and Stephen King, True Movies 2 provides a clearly differentiated yet synergistic viewing proposition to its sister channel.
Building on the success of the True Channels CSC launched its first general entertainment channel in August 2009 - True Entertainment. In its first 18 months of operation the channel has grown by 219% which makes it the second fastest growing entertainment channel on the Sky EPG.
True Entertainment shows true movies, fantastic mini-series and author-based dramas and is quickly becomming the 'home of UK drama' with such shows as The Vice, The Knock, Life Begins and Cold Feet!
Since 2006, impacts generated by CSC's True Channels have grown by 71%.
CSC believes in speed to market, total audience focus, sophisticated branding and the development of new niches. The modern media market demands nothing less.
